LOST

Well, yes, Lost is the name of my current television show. I'm waiting on tomorrow night's episode. Seems the more the show reveals about it's characters and mystery plots, the more there is to know and more questions raised.

But today LOST refers to my Zen Micro at the HealthPlex this morning. There is a chance it was found by a kind and honest soul and turned in to someone official somewhere. Yes, there is that chance. But it's about as good as Mississippi State's basketball team making the NCAA Tourney this spring!

Five Gigabytes of music and sermons and podcasts. I was going to go to sleep tonight listening to either LOST Podcast (oh, the irony!) or some strategic church management. Instead I'm looking at old recruiting info. I hope for good news tomorrow.

Ten years ago
I was 21 and looking at two more semesters of college. Thought I might want to work in television of video production. Whatever job I would take, I wanted it to be kinda far away from home. Was dating a girl (she didn’t call it dating) that I thought could be the one, but couldn’t ever figure out what she was thinking.

Five years ago
I was 26, a college grad, married to that girl. I was working as the youth minister at the church I grew up in…yes, back in my home town. My wife and I were expecting our first child in the coming summer. Crazy to think about. Oh, and I still couldn’t figure out what she was thinking.

One year ago
I was nearning the end of my 8 years of youth ministry at my home church. I was about to move my family (which was my wife, my 3 year old, and 2 dogs to a city about 3 hours away. My pegnant wife’s due date was Nov 16th. So I was waiting til after all that before moving. I learned not to try to figure her out. Esp when she’s pregnant.

Fall Retreat was a great time. We all had a grand experience, but I'm still pretty tired fromit all. We all learned that "fear of the Lord" is a good thing and something we should pursue. But not to be afraid of the world and it's craziness, but to follow after God and allow Him to completely control us.

Nothing was more fun than The Gallon Challenge.
18 Gallons of Milk
And a garbage can of regurgitated milk when it was all said and done.  And yes, I have video.

I really wish more of you could have been there with us. I know there were scheduling conflicts and all. But don't forget that this weekend is signup for BreakThru...once again.

THIS SUNDAY IS SIGNUP FOR BREAKTHRU :: 6PM IN THE GYM

Last night was a good night. Still crazy that there are 7 people here at 7pm and then w/in10min there are lots and lots more. Maybe we need to actually start the night at 7 and people will get there a bit earlier? What do you think?

Anyhow, the videos went well. Lots of ideas already for more videos in the future. Any ideas? Send them my way. I saw Don Bar Running, correction Running Don Barr on Saturday. I must say...Masterpiece! I think we're game for some more videos like those in the future. If you're wanting to participate, make sure to let me know. We can start a library.

Stevie Jones Day, October 16 was a good day. Be sure to pray for Stevie in the upcoming weeks as he makes his transition to Forest. He's been such an HUGE part of the FUMC youth ministry. Stevie, we love you, man!

Don't forget,
Crowder next week. Buy your tickets at the church now! $10
